Take a moment to think about the topics that occupy your thoughts. Reviewing Isaiah 1:3, Pastor Terlecki discusses God’s Word regarding the circumstances with Israel – He is unhappy with Israel for rebelling against him and taking Him for granted. The last part of the verse states, “My people do not understand”. Are your thoughts consumed with paying off debts, preparing for a party, what your career choice will be in the future, your boyfriend/girlfriend or this week’s sale paper at the local grocery store?
Romans 8:5-6 is very clear in that God’s people think about spiritual things, whereas people of the world mind the flesh, whilst in Romans 8:28 we see that God works for the good of those who love him.
3 The ox knows its master,
the donkey its owner’s manger,
but Israel does not know,
my people do not understand.”
5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.
